Financial Accounts and Membership Categories from 2026

Society Financial Accounts

With the appointment from 1st January 2026 of our new Treasurer, Amy Herman, efforts the International Clematis Society (IClS) has moved the financial and legal organization from the United Kingdom (UK) to the United States (US). A new non-profit organization has been established with the same name in the US State of Oregon, and US federal non-profit status is pending.

The means the currency of the Society is now the US dollar. With effect from 1st January 2026, our UK bank account and our UK PayPal account should NOT be used. They will be closed as soon as this can be arranged.

PayPal now becomes the primary means for all payments to the Society. You do not need a PayPal account to do this as you can use the guest facility. For the moment, the Taunus Euro account continues to be available for our European Union members to use.

New Membership Categories

The Society now has five membership categories

For more information about membership categories, please visit our Bylaws page.

The membership dues amounts will not change for 2026 but will be collected in US dollars. Member Plus dues will be introduced for 2027. This will give the organization time to determine any changes in expenses resulting from organizational adjustments, along with leadership and processes related to producing the annual IClS Journal.

All members should pay 2026 annual dues through the new US PayPal account. Buttons to make this easier can be found on the IClS website at Join or Renew Membership. As of January 1, 2026, the UK bank account and PayPal account should NOT be used. For the moment, the Euro Taunus bank account will continue to operate and details can be found at Euro Join or Renew Membership.
